"Over the years I had come to believe that the only decent actors go to Hollywood or New York or, if they practice their skills in the so-called "boonies," they do so only to prepare for a career in those markets. Imagine my surprise, a very pleasant one, to see Trash Town. Not only does the acting and the filmmaking come up to the highest standards anywhere, but the "local color" adds an element of wonder and astonishment: these actors, each and everyone of them in their multi-level diversity of age, character and personality, take a courageous journey outside the constricting standards imposed by the primary markets, and impose their own unique and unrestricted skills and talents as the new standard.
As a film editor in Hollywood where I edited sixteen feature films, I would love to edit a film with any and all of the actors in Webster Studio. As a film teacher with eleven years of experience at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, I am deeply impressed by the work of these filmmakers. I can only hope that this kind of work continues to grow and develop in the regional areas of the United States, thus making a powerful new contribution to the way we see and experience ourselves."

"Prior to his arrival in Charlottesville, I can't speak to that. But I have experienced what he brought with him: a genius gift of instruction, direction and resoluteness.
Web's weekly classes are unique. I know this because I have taken classes from the industry's best: Terry Schrieber, Tom Logan, Geoffery Soeffer and others. And yet, each and every Tuesday I drive 190 miles for the priveledge of Web's direction. He is a most accomplished person in his craft.
The second quality Web has: sterling dependability. He always shows up. He has a life like the rest of us, with the variables of children and complications. But he never misses a class with his students. Oh, his students can be less than stellar in their commitment, but never Web to us. He is always there. He has no back up, no assistant, no one to take his place if he is not up to it...so he comes, like clock work and (in accordance with true professionalism) he doesn't burden us with life behind the scenes. He is there for us.
Four years ago, I took up acting and now am a working actor. Web deserves "my oscar" for his guidance; others he has sent to stardom.
I believe in the fulfillment of dreams. I've had suffcient time to see dreams come to fruition. Web has a dream to continue to make movies: award winning movies. He will.

"David Webster is an extraordinary man. He is both an exceptional artist with a very high standard of professionalism and a superb salesman and entrepreneur. He has the ability to create an excellent product and the skills to market them.
Web, as he likes to be called, has enormous energy. And vision. And focus. And persistence. These are the qualities of a
successful person and, more especially a successful maker of movies.
Web has the vision to create a company of technicians and actors to make movies. He has the focus to keep his eye on that vision while,
at the same time, noting the lighting for a particular shot in a movie and directing the actors in a scene in such a way as to get the best performance from each of them. He is always aware of the bigger picture and the details of the moment. Completely confident of his own abilities, he believes in himself and in his colleagues. His belief in himself is a great model for his associates; his belief in his associates is an endless aid for their growing belief in themselves.
It is important that his vision is to create a company, a community of people. He knows that movie-making is a communal art, that no one
can make movies successfully by himself. And one of his greatest gifts is the ability to create community, a place where people work
together, support each other, trust each other, learn and grow together.
Moreover, Web has been successful in the past. In Atlanta, Web created an improvisation company whose performances were televised
weekly on regional television and whose performances were sold out for hundreds of successive shows, a theater, a coffee shop, etc. A practical man, he had the self-awareness to identify what worked, what contributed to his success. In short, he knows HOW to be
successful.
I have known Web--and been a member of his classes for the slightly over a year. In that time he has made two short films, a full-length film, and trained dozens of actors for film--writing, directing, shooting, and editing all of them.
David Webster is going to be successful. He is going to make movies, movies that will eventually make money. He is not the kind of artist to work without an audience. He loves attention far too much. Those of us in his company are going to work very hard to help him because we know that helping him helps us. It's going to be a great ride, the best ride in the amusement park. Only a damn fool, as my mother would say, wouldn't want to go on that ride."

"I've known “Web” since September 2007. I blindly signed up for his "Acting for Film" class, and honestly, it's been one of the best decisions of my life. I walked into my first Tuesday class and found everyone laying on the floor, moaning, screaming, rolling around, and breathing deeply. I was petrified. I was about to leave when Web approached and assured me, "Hey, we're just doing a warm up routine. Lay down on the ground and forget about your stressful day." I joined them that Tuesday. I’ve joined them every Tuesday since, along with every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.
Webster Studio has produced a strong army of actors. The “Acting for Film” class drills the students with essential skills such as the three spheres, framing, blocking, movement, timing, and memorization techniques. Web’s class is one of the few film classes where students constantly receive camera time and constructive criticism. In the short time I’ve been there, I’ve already witnessed the completion of a full length and a short film. The “Acting for Improvisation” curriculum covers projection, creation of feeling and need, and various tips to producing an enjoyable scene. The students follow a philosophy of acting from feeling, not intelligence, stressing that projection from feeling is more entertaining and believable. The class is paralleled with an “improv jam session”, allowing the actors to create strong bonds in the director’s absence.
My professional experience is mostly in software development, and thus, I am new to the production of film. I can attest, however, that Web has more motivation than anyone I’ve met in my career. Web has a way of creating an adventurous excitement; he gathers people and resources around him and builds. His art is addicting, his ideas are fresh, his talent is viable, and his leadership is executive. The more people see of Web's work, the more they'll want."

""I am writing this letter in honor of my friend, David Webster. I am an actor and elementary school teacher here in Charlottesville. I have been studying acting in film with David since January of 07. During that time, I have come to know David as an incredible artist and master teacher. I have watched him take actors of various abilities (including myself) and lead them through stages of development that inspire them to reach new depths in their acting ability. I have witnessed first hand the incredible growth that all of us have experienced under his direction. David Webster has and imparts to others a limitless knowledge of the many facets of acting and filmmaking. The confidence, passion, exuberance, and love that he brings to his art is infectious and inspires all of us. His list of accomplishments speak for themselves. I trust David completely with the future of my acting development in film and for elevision. All of us give him one hundred percent of our love for acting and filmming as well as our blood and guts. We wouldn't do it any other way. "

"For nearly two years, I have been a part of Webster Studio. I plan on supporting him another two years because I have witnessed what he can do. He knows entertainment and he knows how to bring it to life. At first, I was attending his classes once a week. Six months later, I was given the opportunity to become involved with his improv classes, film shoots, as well as hands-on film production on the weekends. I invest a lot of time, money and energy into this man's company because he knows his craft from experience. With a diligent commitment towards his works on stage or behind the camera, I believe that it won't be long until one of them takes off."
